In a breaking news presentation at #AACR26 today, Dr. Aditya Bardia at UCLA that Post-COVID lymphopenia results in a 2.46-fold increased risk of distant recurrence occurs in patients with lymphopenia even in early stage breast cancer (Stage 1, 2, 3) with a p=0.009. This finding was highly significant and in contrast, patients without lymphopenia did not suffer a recurrence. An important demonstration that low NK and T cells affect the progression of the disease even in patients in remission.
