Historic at #ESMO26 Madrid - For the first time, an mRNA vaccine (intisimeran/mRNA-4157) given in the adjuvant setting shows positive results.
INTerpath-001: intisimeran + pembrolizumab reduced risk of recurrence or death by 42% and DMFS by 38% vs placebo + pembrolizumab in resected high-risk melanoma. Benefits were 58% after month 6.
This opens the door for similar trials in other high-risk solid tumors in the future - bladder, NSCLC, RCC. A landmark for personalized cancer vaccines.
