Does adding carboplatin to taxane + dual HER2 blockade improve pCR in neoadjuvant HER2+ breast cancer?
Our meta-analysis included 8 studies involving 2,529 patients (2 prospective).
pCR was 62.2% with TCHP vs 61.7% with THP (OR 1.15; 95% CI 0.82–1.60; p=0.42).
No significant benefit was observed across HR status, nodal status, or clinical stage.
Do all patients with HER2+ early breast cancer really need carboplatin?
Although heterogeneity and predominantly retrospective evidence limit definitive conclusions, our findings challenge the routine addition of carboplatin and support a more individualized approach.
