A clinically annotated proteomic and histological resource of 1,000 colorectal cancers

In brief

A research team released a multimodal open resource covering 1,000 treatment-naive colorectal cancer cases, integrating deep proteomics, targeted genomics, whole-slide pathology and clinical follow-up. From the proteome, the study defines six subgroups and resolves the chromosomally unstable class into three functional subgroups, including an indolent subgroup with favorable prognosis and a rare, previously unrecognized subgroup with poor prognosis.

Why it matters

The resource integrates multi-omics, clinical follow-up and whole-slide images across 1,000 treatment-naive colorectal cancers, and its multi-protein classification transfers to an independent cohort as an open reference.
