ESMO 2026 HCC Updates: C-CAR031 and BGB-B2033 Show Preliminary Efficacy, LEAP-012 Long-Term Analysis Shows No OS Benefit

ESMO 2026 published abstracts from three advanced HCC studies. Phase I updates for C-CAR031 and BGB-B2033 showed preliminary antitumor activity, while the long-term LEAP-012 analysis showed no OS benefit. C-CAR031 achieved an ORR of 44% and DCR of 92% in 36 patients, with tumor lysis syndrome-related deaths and interstitial lung disease reported; confirmed ORR across BGB-B2033 dose groups in 110 patients ranged from 16.0% to 35.7%, and 450 mg was selected as the recommended phase II dose.
