• 2-year EFS: 64% vs 45%

📈 Overall survival:
• HR 0.58 (95% CI 0.40–0.83)
• p=0.0027
• 2-year OS: 78% vs 69%

✅ Pathological complete response:
45% vs 10%

🔬 Durvalumab + Tremelimumab + EV

✅ EFS HR 0.61 (95% CI 0.47–0.80)

⚠️ OS did not meet statistical significance at this interim analysis.

⚠️ Grade 3–4 treatment-related AEs:
• Durvalumab + EV: 30%
• Durvalumab + Tremelimumab + EV: 42%

⭐ MY POINT OF VIEW | CLINICAL PEARL

VOLGA delivers what matters most in curative-intent oncology: improvement not only in pathological response, but also in event-free AND overall survival.

💡 The challenge now is determining how best to integrate EV-based perioperative strategies, optimize patient selection and minimize treatment-related toxicity.

Importantly, VOLGA does not directly compare durvalumab + EV with pembrolizumab + EV.

🎯 The goal is not simply more intensive treatment, but more patients achieving long-term survival—and potentially cure.
