Can silencers add benefit in ATTR-CM?

Eplontersen, co-developed by AstraZeneca and Ionis, missed the primary endpoint in the Phase III CARDIO-TTRansform trial in ATTR-CM. Detailed data show that among patients already on a TTR stabilizer at baseline, adding eplontersen led to worse outcomes than the stabilizer alone. The miss, announced in July, is a major setback for a planned future core revenue driver for both companies.
