Biotech IPOs surge to 31 in 2026, with four more companies queuing
Start here
Biotech companies are returning to public markets at a pace not seen since the 2021 boom. Thirty-one biotech firms have completed initial public offerings so far in 2026, according to BioSpace data, and another four have filed applications to follow. The 2026 total far exceeds the eight IPOs recorded in 2025 and also tops 2024 (19), 2023 (13) and 2022 (17). Even so, activity remains far below the nearly 100 debuts of 2021, the sector's peak year. With roughly two months of the year remaining and four filings pending, the final count could still rise, but the recovery has so far stopped well short of the previous cycle's highs.
