Recordanelles for transcriptome-wide single-cell RNA recording in human cells
In brief
This paper reports a synthetic organelle termed the recordanelle that continuously samples and protects endogenous mRNAs in HEK293T cells, enabling reconstruction of transcriptional events at single-cell level after IFNβ stimulation is withdrawn.
Why it matters
The paper builds the recordanelle tool and provides control data showing minimal perturbation of the transcriptome, proteome and mitochondrial function.
