Europe’s research breakthroughs face a technology transfer bottleneck

The European Patent Office, with ASTP and Fraunhofer ISI, has released the first pan-European landscape study of technology transfer offices. A survey of 809 TTOs shows 90.5% are small or mid-sized, while large offices have six times the staff, 23 times the research expenditure and 16 times the invention disclosures.
