Squid RNA Recoding Sites Validated at Protein Level as Affecting Protein Function

On October 15, 2026, Danielle L. Swaney's team at UC San Francisco published a paper online in Cell. Using the longfin inshore squid (Doryteuthis pealeii), they directly validated RNA recoding sites at the protein level and found that editing systematically alters protein stability, subcellular localization, post-translational modification, and enzyme activity.
