Aquaporin-4 Regulates Edema, Sustains Astrocyte Differentiation, and Constrains Immunosuppressive Remodeling in Glioblastoma
In brief
An RCAS/tv-a mouse study shows that Aqp4 loss worsens glioblastoma edema, shortens survival, and remodels astrocyte states. In human glioblastoma samples, AQP4 expression is upregulated and correlates with peritumoral edema.
Why it matters
Aqp4-deficient mouse models with scRNA-seq and spatial transcriptomics link edema, astrocyte state, and immune infiltration changes.
