Single-cell-level digital twins for preterm birth prevention strategies.

A study in Science Advances presents SIMCO, a single-cell-level digital twin framework that uses a mass cytometry atlas to simulate the immunomodulatory effects of 9 candidate drugs on the timing of labor. In validation on an independent cohort, tetrahydrofolate and aspirin combined with lansoprazole emerged as top candidates, delaying labor onset through enhanced mTOR signaling in innate immune cells and attenuated JAK/STAT signaling in naïve CD4+ T cells.
