Cross-Tissue Concordance of Blood-Trained Protein EpiScores in Donor-Matched GTEx Tissues

In brief

Blood-trained protein EpiScores show limited cross-tissue concordance in donor-matched GTEx tissues, with the broadest agreement in lung. Analysis of 158 blood-tissue pairs from 54 donors found 97 of 564 protein-tissue comparisons (17.2%) met the positive concordance criterion; 56 of 94 lung EpiScores (59.6%) were concordant. Results in adjustable tissues were largely covariate-sensitive, and concordance does not imply measurement of local tissue protein abundance.

Why it matters

Quantifies cross-tissue applicability of blood-trained protein EpiScores in donor-matched GTEx tissues.
