Phenotype-cloud reorganization shapes cancer progression and therapeutic adaptation
A research team reports in a bioRxiv preprint that the phenotype cloud reorganizes during breast cancer progression, while after chemotherapy a restricted survival state supported by diverse transcriptional and regulatory routes becomes enriched. The study integrates spatial transcriptomic, single-cell, spatial proteomic, bulk-transcriptomic and perturbational data, using graph-neural-network progression coordinates and Field--Flow--Front analysis to identify the transition from a fragmented, high-mixing intermediate state to a stabilized interface-remodelling Front; no comparable stabilization was seen in normal breast tissue.
The study combines multi-omic data, graph-neural-network progression coordinates and Field--Flow--Front analysis, offering a transferable method for dissecting phenotype-state transitions and chemotherapy adaptation.
