Biotech platform expansion abroad: Roche-Hansoh ADC deal raises BD versus CRO question

Hansoh Pharmaceutical signed an ADC strategic collaboration and license agreement with Roche, a case of a biotech platform going overseas choosing between higher-level BD and a more respectable CRO role. The deal has a potential total value of $15 billion, with Hansoh receiving $400 million upfront and $110 million as a one-year anniversary special payment. About a year earlier, Roche also acquired an ADC pipeline asset from Hansoh.
