Cortex-wide imaging in naturally behaving mice with 1-gram wireless mesoscopes.
In brief
A team publishing in Nature developed Airscope, a 1-gram wireless mesoscope that achieves cortex-wide calcium imaging in freely moving mice with a 6 mm field of view and 4 μm resolution, recording more than 8,500 neurons in a single session.
Why it matters
The wireless miniature microscope enables cortex-wide cellular-resolution calcium imaging in freely moving mice and simultaneous recording from multiple animals.
