Clinical and prognostic significance of the C-reactive protein-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index in breast cancer: a systematic review and meta-analysis

In brief

A systematic review and meta-analysis of 2,568 patients found that low baseline CALLY index gave a hazard ratio of 2.03 (95% CI 1.20-3.45) for overall survival, while its association with disease-free survival was unclear. In a single HER2-positive cohort, low CALLY was associated with lower pathological complete response rates (adjusted OR 0.25, 95% CI 0.12-0.50). High heterogeneity, imprecise evidence and lack of external validation do not yet support routine use.

Why it matters

Meta-analysis links low CALLY to worse overall survival but evidence is heterogeneous and unvalidated.
