Two trials, two important lessons for advanced NSCLC.
🔹 SARON: Consolidative radiotherapy improved PFS and local disease control in oligo metastatic NSCLC, but no OS benefit (HR 0.99).
🔹 PERSEE: Pembrolizumab + chemo met its primary endpoint PFS but not OS though numerically better (not powered for OS) in PD-L1 ≥50% NSCLC.
Key messages from @benlevylungdoc :
• Oligometastatic disease needs better biological definition, beyond the number of lesions.
• Treatment intensification should be guided by better patient selection.
• More treatment does not automatically mean better outcomes!
