Bailong Xiao Team Builds Behavioral Genomics Screen in Nature Journal, Finds Creld1 Regulates Multiple Somatic Senses

Bailong Xiao's team established a screening system in a Nature journal that combines postnatal in vivo CRISPR–Cas9 gene editing with somatosensory behavioral assays, and identified Creld1 as a cross-modal regulator of touch, temperature, pain and itch. The system integrates genome editing with behavioral phenotyping to screen for common regulators of different sensory modalities.
