#AACR26 is winding down — part of me is sad(!).

Cancer has been part of my life since I was 14 when I was diagnosed with a rare one with a dicey prognosis
(I’m fine.)
Then my husband developed a glioblastoma which sucked.(rip).

Which is to say I’ve been following cancer for a long time and this is the most transformative moment I’ve experienced in this field.
When Gleevec cured CML circa 2000, that was also a moment…

I applaud all those researchers both at RevMed and their colleagues around the world. They stayed focused, probably spent countless nights in their labs wracking their brains for answers. There are people being diagnosed this week with pancreatic cancer and they will live longer than their predecessors.
It’s amazing to think of it that way.
Anyway, here’s to following your passion and passionately working it for the good of humanity.
