Dietary serine and glycine restriction delays cancer-associated cachexia

In brief

Dietary serine and glycine restriction delays the onset of cancer-associated cachexia in tumour-bearing mice by preserving adipose depots through a host metabolic response rather than an effect on tumour growth. The restricted diet remodeled systemic metabolism, reducing oxidative lipid stress and attenuating inflammatory responses, positioning serine and glycine availability as a regulator of host metabolic resilience during cancer progression.
