Axatilimab Misses Primary Endpoint in MAXPIRe Phase 2 IPF Trial, Syndax Halts Development

Axatilimab failed to meet the primary endpoint in the MAXPIRe phase 2 trial in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, which measured annual rate of decline in forced vital capacity (FVC). Announced by Syndax Pharmaceuticals on October 12, the company is stopping development of this indication. Safety and tolerability were consistent with prior studies, with no new safety signals.
