Clinician Use of an Artificial Intelligence-Enabled Clinical Information Platform.
More than 950,000 US clinicians, including 556,200 physicians, submitted 271 million queries to the AI-enabled clinical information platform OpenEvidence over 2.5 years, with monthly active users rising from 355 to 703,265 and average monthly queries per user from 18.0 to 39.5. Use was concentrated among recent graduates (use ratio 2.54), residents and fellows (1.84), and oncology, hematology, internal medicine and family medicine, while most queries (51.9%) addressed clinical decision-making, especially treatment and management, rather than diagnosis (13.9%). This quantifies how clinicians actually integrate AI information tools into practice and where uptake differs across the workforce.
