AI drug discovery company insitro has entered a global exclusive research collaboration with AstraZeneca on October 15 to discover new targets and develop candidates for MASH and cardiomyopathy. insitro receives a $40 million upfront payment and is eligible for up to about $1.46 billion in R&D and commercialization milestone payments plus single-digit royalties on future global sales. insitro will use its Virtual Human platform to identify disease-driving mechanisms and advance AstraZeneca-nominated targets to development candidate stage, while AstraZeneca handles clinical development, regulatory filings and commercialization.
