Insitro and AstraZeneca Sign Multi-Year Deal to Advance Targets with Virtual Human Platform

Insitro and AstraZeneca have entered a multi-year collaboration in which insitro will use its Virtual Human platform to identify causal disease biology and advance AstraZeneca-nominated targets from discovery to development candidate. AstraZeneca will lead all clinical development, regulatory work and commercialization. Insitro, which has raised over $750 million since 2018 from investors including a16z, ARCH, BlackRock, CPP and Temasek, has prior deals with BMS, Eli Lilly and Gilead, a pipeline of nine programs, and plans to move its hepatic steatosis and fibrosis genetic master regulator program into the clinic in early 2027.
